Memory and Inspiration

We arrived in November, when there were no tourists and the painted houses seemed to belong to us. The still canal, the pleasant cold, the smell of frying food from an open doorway. Lemon and orange, strawberry, raspberry: all the island's colour in the top notes. Lily of the valley in the air like the wind turning the corner. Vanilla and white musk, afterwards: the return. Burano is feeling good for no particular reason. And not wanting to explain anything.
